Veterans seeking to modify their homes to make them accessible often face hundreds of dollars in permit fees, plan review fees, inspection and reinspection fees, and other fees, creating a significant barrier to meeting their needs. These fees impose a financial burden not only on the veterans themselves, but also on their families and caregivers.
