Nicole La Ha
Representative Nicole La Ha serves the 82nd House district in Illinois. As a mother of a daughter with cerebral palsy, Rep La Ha is a strong disability advocate and understands the barriers to accessibility that exist. She was a founding member and first chairperson of Homer Glen, IL’s Ability Awareness Committee, whose purpose is to promote awareness and enhance the quality of life for individuals with all types of disabilities in the community.
Rep La Ha is committed to increasing accessibility and improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. She has passed numerous disability related bills and has been an advocate for inclusive and accessible playgrounds. Additionally, Rep La Ha has advocated on Capitol Hill with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and is the author of “My Sister is Just Like You and Me” which teaches children the importance of inclusion, acceptance, and embracing individuals with all types of abilities.
Aside from her legislative accomplishments, Rep La Ha has introduced GoTo shopping carts across the Midwest, which are specialized carts that support children with special needs. In all aspects of her work, Rep La Ha is dedicated to creating more inclusive and accepting communities for all individuals with disabilities.
