Nancy Gianni
Nancy Gianni is the Founder and Chief Belief Officer of GiGi’s Playhouse. Mother to GiGi Gianni, a 23-year-old with Down syndrome, Nancy has dedicated her life’s work to providing resources and support for families of children with Down syndrome.
Nancy leads GiGi’s Playhouse locations in 63 countries, providing free educational, therapeutic, and career training programs. Her business expertise, combined with her kind spirit, has expanded the presence of GiGi’s Playhouse worldwide and provided hundreds of thousands of families with support. Nancy is recognized as a leader within the Down Syndrome community and has spoken on national media numerous times. In 2016, she was recognized as a CNN hero.
Nancy is the also author of #GenerationG, a memoir of her journey as a mother of a child with Down Syndrome. In this story, she documents the growth of GiGi’s Playhouse and reminds readers to rise above the negative preconceptions associated with Down syndrome. Nancy’s book aims to break down stereotypes and encourage people to be more accepting. #GenerationG has become a global movement for acceptance and kindness towards people with all types of disabilities.
